Using Internal Family Systems Therapy for Trauma Treatment
Copyright :

Internal Family Systems (IFS) therapy has become an increasingly popular non-pathologizing effective therapeutic modality. Developed over 40 years ago, IFS therapy is now an evidenced-based practice for depression, phobia, panic, generalized anxiety disorder and post-traumatic stress disorder. In this workshop, Dr. Fatter, IFS therapy trainer and consultant, will review the conceptual framework of IFS therapy including foundational assumptions of IFS therapy , goals of the model, and research to date. Dr. Fatter will share a roadmap for steps in doing IFS therapy with specific interventions. You will learn the following related to IFS therapy:

  • The three types of parts
  • The role of memory reconsolidation
  • Why this is an effective skill for trauma treatment including complex trauma
